PKR promoted themselves as “the worlds most advanced poker room”, which enabled online poker players to play in a virtual reality game of poker. Although certainly different to other poker websites in the market, the software load speed was certainly slower than other websites due to its graphics. Whilst there are likely many factors at play the load speed, and the cost of the related graphics, could well have contributed to their downfall.
What PKR filing for administration mean for PKR players?
At the time of writing, there is not much information given to PKR players. If players try to login to their PKR account they are currently presented with a message stating “Access to your account has been restricted. Further information can be found here”, as shown below:
The link then takes the player to the PKR website, which states that “further information will be placed on this website following the hearings”.
This is particularly frustrating for players who still have funds within their account.
What PKR filing for administration mean for PKR affiliates?
As an affiliate of PKR we were are disappointed to hear this news, and are frustrated that we were not notified by PKR of problems at an earlier date. We had noted that communication by their affiliate program at PKR had been poor since the turn of the year, but given frequent excuses by them for this.
All PKR affiliates were sent an email at 0:02 this morning, notifying them of the administration filing and stating that further information will be provided on the PKR website following the administration hearings. We were informed that “This information will include contact details for players and creditors to address queries and details of the process.”
The email also requested that affiliates “remove all banners, links and reviews from your sites”.
If, like us, you are a player and/or creditor of PKR we hope that you are able to recover what is owed!
